I live in a remote community in Northwestern British Columbia, Canada. I became ill from badly ruptured silicone breast implants, and after learning of the number of women still being implanted in this region I felt compelled to speak up. As a result, my breastimplantfailure blog and celebrateyourbreasts project were borne. I was explanted in 2013 and am still on a healing journey.

I read your post. I saw your picture. I have so much I would like to share with you about this subject. I don’t know where to begin so I’ll say this- my beautiful, healthy and full life came to a h a l t one year after I was implanted with polyurethane covered silicone breast implants. That happened 26 years ago. I’m now 63. I was a wife and mother of six…. after many pregnancies and years and years of breast feeding I made the biggest mistake in my life. It not only transformed my life into something to be constantly fought for… but has taken the experience of enjoying life with a healthy wife, being a dependable and helpful mother, a supportive daughter , a doting grandmother and productive citizen away from the people in my life. I have been in the care of great neurologists, who began caring for sick persons through the direct referrals of the physician responsible for the invention of the silicone implant. I’ve had hospitalizations in hospitals of several states and been the patient of hundreds of physicians undergoing surgeries and procedures …. I have received good care, bad care including inappropriate diagnoses as well as spot on discerning care…
I will offer any help, answer any questions about any topic connected to the experience of having breast implants, their explanation and the physical, mental, financial, relational, and practical problems you may face. I haven’t written the book, but I feel I could write one to aide those who find themselves involved with this scourge that is still endorsed today. CKN
